    Personal / Personal Tax

As part of the Government of Canada’s climate change plan, residents of Ontario will receive a new refundable tax credit when they file their 2018 personal tax returns.  The credit breaks down as follows:

Single adult – $154

Second adult in a couple – $77

Each child under 18 – $38

For a family of four, this amounts to approximately $300.

This refundable tax credit is meant to offset the additional “fuel charge” that you will be paying at the gas pumps and on home heating bills beginning in April 2019.
